JDM clubs, meets and convoys

Malaysia’s JDM scene is built on grey imports, long build threads and a lot of accumulated knowledge that mostly lives in people’s heads. The cars are documented obsessively and the clubs around them barely at all.

What changes

What Apex Drive does for JDM

01

The garage is the credential

Chassis code, import history, engine build, mapping and dyno sheets on the car itself. When a private club vets an application, it is looking at the build, not at a profile picture.

02

Runs with lead, sweep and radio

Live positions for lead, you and sweep, push-to-talk for the whole grid, and hold-to-send SOS on every plan — including free members on a ride-along.

03

Track days that are actually organised

Sepang and Pasir Gudang sessions as capped events with a signed waiver per driver and payment collected before the day.

Why this is worth fixing

JDM clubs fail in a predictable way. They form around a few well-known builds, run on one person’s energy, and dissolve when that person gets a job that eats weekends. Nothing about the membership, the dues or the history survives it. Apex Drive splits the running of a club across five people with scoped roles, keeps dues and applications in one place, and attaches every build record to the driver rather than the club — so the community’s knowledge is not held hostage by whoever currently runs the chat group.

  • Live lead, you and sweep positions with distance and ETA-to-checkpoint
  • Hold-to-send SOS on every plan, free included — it is never paywalled
  • Applications reviewed against a real garage, never charged before approval
  • Club dues go to the club, not to Apex Drive
FAQ

JDM — questions people ask

What counts as a JDM club here?

Whatever the club decides. Apex Drive does not enforce marque or model rules — a club sets its own membership criteria and vets applications against the garage records applicants submit.

Can grey-import history be recorded?

Yes. The garage holds chassis, import route, engine and drivetrain work, mapping and dyno sheets, plus build media, per car.

What does it cost?

Drivers are free and receive one live-map hour each calendar month. Premium is RM 9.90/mo for 10 live-map hours per billing period, unlimited garage and personal event hosting. Creating each club uses a separate one-time Club License.
