Classic and retro car clubs

Classic clubs have the opposite problem to performance clubs. Nobody is worried about pace; they are worried about a forty-year-old car stopping somewhere with no phone signal and nobody noticing for an hour.

What changes

What Apex Drive does for Classic cars

01

Restoration history that stays with the car

Work done, parts sourced, specialists used and photographs, documented per car. The provenance that makes a restored example worth what it is worth.

02

Touring with a sweep that watches

Live sweep position and distance-to-sweep for the whole convoy, so a car that drops out of the group is visible immediately rather than at the next stop.

03

Static meets with real numbers

Concours and display events run with hard caps and a confirmed attendee list, which is what a venue actually needs from you.

Why this is worth fixing

Classic car communities carry decades of knowledge in a small number of people, and they lose it the same way every time — informally, and all at once. A club record that holds cars, restoration history, past events and membership continuity is the least exciting part of running one and probably the most valuable. Apex Drive keeps that record and handles the dues and applications around it, so the committee spends its time on the cars.

  • Live lead, you and sweep positions with distance and ETA-to-checkpoint
  • Hold-to-send SOS on every plan, free included — it is never paywalled
  • Applications reviewed against a real garage, never charged before approval
  • Club dues go to the club, not to Apex Drive
FAQ

Classic cars — questions people ask

Our members are not phone people. Is this realistic?

Honest answer: partly. Joining a run and holding a grid position is simple, and SOS is one hold. But a convoy’s live map assumes a phone mounted and charged, which not every classic owner will want.

Does SOS work where there is no coverage?

No. It needs an active data connection and has no SMS fallback. The app tells you upfront when there is no signal to send on, which matters more on the rural routes classic runs favour.
