EV clubs and range-aware convoys

Malaysia’s EV scene grew faster than the organising around it. A convoy of EVs has a constraint no petrol run does: everybody has to stop at the same place at roughly the same time, and that place has a limited number of chargers.

What changes

What Apex Drive does for EV

01

Checkpoints that mean something

ETA-to-checkpoint for every car on the run. When the checkpoint is a charger with four bays, knowing the arrival spread is the entire logistics problem.

02

A sweep that sees the stragglers

Live sweep position and distance-to-sweep, so the car managing its range at the back is visible to the people leading.

03

A club record that holds specs

Battery, real-world range, charging curve notes and modifications documented per car — useful for planning a route the whole group can actually complete.

Why this is worth fixing

EV owners clubs spend more of their time on route logistics than any other kind of club, and it is almost always done manually — a spreadsheet of charging stops and a chat thread of live updates. Apex Drive does not solve charger availability, and it would be dishonest to imply otherwise. What it does is make the convoy legible: where everyone is, how far apart, and when they will reach the next stop.

  • Live lead, you and sweep positions with distance and ETA-to-checkpoint
  • Hold-to-send SOS on every plan, free included — it is never paywalled
  • Applications reviewed against a real garage, never charged before approval
  • Club dues go to the club, not to Apex Drive
FAQ

EV — questions people ask

Does Apex Drive show charger locations?

Not today. It handles the convoy — routes, checkpoints, live positions, ETAs and marshalling. Charger availability still comes from your existing tools.

Does live tracking drain the battery?

Live convoy tracking runs the phone’s GPS continuously, so it is meaningful phone battery use — not vehicle range. Keeping the phone on a charger during a run is the practical answer.
